Booking before you arrive
The Student Lodge has 19 buildings in Nottingham, mostly in Radford, Hyson Green and along Gregory Boulevard. Rooms start at £99 a week. Gas, electricity, water, Wi-Fi and contents insurance are in that price. You do not set up a utility account when you land.
Some private lets quote a low rent and then ask you to arrange gas, electricity and internet yourself. An energy account usually wants a UK bank account, and a bank account often wants proof of address. With the bills already in the rent, that does not come up.
You can reserve a room from outside the UK on the booking portal. Questions about a building or a room type can go to info@thestudentlodge.co.uk. A viewing can be booked once you are in the city, including during Welcome Week.
Guarantors
Many private landlords ask for a UK-based guarantor. If you do not have one, contact our team directly before you book. We will tell you what that application needs.
Getting to the buildings
East Midlands Airport. About 25 minutes by taxi. The Skylink bus runs to the city centre, and NCT buses continue to Radford and Hyson Green.
London. East Midlands Railway from St Pancras to Nottingham takes about two hours. The station is in the centre. Buses run from there to the buildings.
Manchester Airport. Allow about an hour and a half to two hours by train. Some services change.
From the city centre, a taxi to the buildings is usually under 10 minutes.
On site
The doors are opened with a fob. CCTV covers the entrances and the communal areas. A member of staff is in the building at all hours, including if your flight gets in late.
Tenancy letters
The agreement names the address, the dates and the weekly rent. If a visa application asks for proof of where you will live, email the team and ask for a letter. We will send what we can.
