Contents insurance covers your belongings on the terms in the policy. Read the limit. If you have a laptop and a bike that together exceed it, ask before you assume they are covered.
What is not included
Food, travel and your phone are yours. A TV licence is yours too, if you watch live television or BBC iPlayer. Streaming services on their own do not need one. Laundry in the building is pay as you go.
Council tax is not in the rent. Full-time students are usually exempt. That exemption is claimed with the council, not with us.
